Setting up charging infrastructure as a CPO is a complex process that encompasses the integration of hardware, software and collaboration among different parties.
This checklist serves as a structured roadmap, consolidating the critical steps involved in deploying charging infrastructure.

1. Check hardware compatibility
Before you start, consider technical specifications of your chosen hardware and respective compatibility to vaylens. How to ensure your charger is compatible with vaylens. A comprehensive list on the vaylens website gives you an overview of compatible manufacturers and models. If you need further assistance, our team assists you via help@emobility.software.
2. Sign vaylens contract
Our sales team helps you define your product needs and forms a contract base for our collaboration. Refer to our online forms to contact our sales team or directly register for the vaylens partnership.
3. Order SIM card
If your charger doesn't have a built-in WiFi or LAN connection, you can order a SIM card for the communication between charger and vaylens. SIM cards can be ordered in our webshop.
4. Order charge point stickers
To help EV drivers identify and utilize your chargers effectively, make sure to attach charge point stickers to your charge points. They display important information like EVSE ID and payment information. Charge point stickers can be ordered in our webshop.
5. Perfom Hardware installation
If your hardware has not been installed yet, install it at the designated location with the assistance of an electrician. Please consult your hardware manufacturer for any guidance and assistance. Then, perform the initial configuration on the hardware and ensure its technical functionality. Please refer to How to configure a charger and our specific installation guides for further details. Make sure to note down all important hardware information regarding the OCPP connection (OCPP ID, Basic Authentication Password, ICCID etc.).
6. Use Connectivity Tester
As soon as your charger is locally configured, you can use the Charging Station Connectivity Tester to check if a connection to vaylens can be established. For a detailed description on the individual steps please refer to our guide Charging Station Connectivity Tester and Claiming Code.
⚠️The Connectivity Tester can only check the connection for OCPP chargers.
7. Onboard to vaylens
Start establishing your charging infrastructure with onboarding first chargers. Make sure to cover the following topics: put your charger into operation, carry out a basic configuration and assign related products to fulfil your individual use case.
