How to onboard a vaylensPay payment terminal

Learn how to successfully integrate a vaylensPay payment terminal into your charging infrastructure

vaylensPay is a standalone payment terminal that allows card payment for charging sessions carried out at your chargers.

To add a vaylensPay payment terminal to your charging infrastructure, go to Manage > Payment Terminal, select the vaylensPay tab and click + Create new.

A wizard will open and guide you through the process. On the second step Master data, assign a Name, enter the Payment Terminal Serial number as well as the Terminal ID (TID). The payment terminal serial number is printed on the shipping label of the charger or can be found on the back of the payment terminal itself. The default language is the language that is used in the application interface that the EV driver interacts with at the payment terminal.

The terminal ID needs to be requested in advance at vaylens. Please send a request to help@emobility.software with following information:

  • Company name

  • Business partner address (city, postal code, street & house number)

  • Total number of payment terminals to be integrated

  • Location of the pole (city, postal code, street & house number)

  • Commissioning date

Please note that it may take about two weeks to provide a terminal ID.

As a standalone payment terminal does not necessarily have the same location as the assigned charger(s), enter the vaylensPay's address information in the next step.

Complete the address data of the payment terminal by using the address search or entering the data manually. The Geo position is automatically determined from the address and can be fine-tuned by moving a marker on the map.

The next step is to assign all charger(s) that are to be selectable for charging via the payment terminal. The list of chargers can be limited using the search and filter function. The process is completed by clicking on Save and Continue.

As charge point names are not always easy to remember but you want EV drivers to intuitively identify them, you can add a Custom charge port name. These custom names are displayed to the EV driver on the payment terminal interface.

Remember to also display the custom charge port names at your chargers on site (f.e. as stickers), so EV drivers can easily identify them.

Once you have given custom charge port names, click Save and Continue.
