Release date 29.08.2024

This feature will only be available for chargers located in the UK.

"The Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021" define that charge points need to be configured to start charging sessions in pre-set default charging hours outside of peak hours on the electricity grid.

Smart Charging features that are aligned with the regulations can now be activated on UK chargers under the new Smart Charging tab on the Charging station details page. This includes scheduling off-peak charging hours and activating a randomised delay which should be applied to charging sessions that are to start at the beginning or stop at the end of an off-peak period to avoid rapid changes in electricity grid demand.

Also, Smart Charging features are automatically activated for UK chargers that are subject to the regulation when the charger is put into operation.

More detailed information on this feature can be found in UK Smart Charging.
