Connect your Alfen station with one or two charge points to vaylens
Please refer to the manufacturer's manual for information on connecting the charger to Ethernet and inserting the vaylens SIM card.
In addition to the backend configuration, we recommend updating the firmware to the latest version.
The connection between an Alfen station and vaylens is configured via the ACE Installer. Please download the latest version from Alfen support website. To be able to use the ACE Installer and to configure the station, you need access data, which Alfen can provide you with.
Access the station and complete the following steps:
1. Firmware update
- Navigate to General / General
- Click on Update Firmware
- Choose the latest FW version
- Submit with Start Upload
- The update process may take a few minutes
2. Upload root certificate
- Navigate to General / General
- Choose the Root certificate under the firmware file location
- You can download the root certificate here
- Submit with Start Upload
- The update process may take a few minutes
3. Set Time
- Navigate to General / Location
- Set Time Zone to UTC +01:00 Amsterdam, Berlin,....
- Click on Sync Time
- Check whether Charger date and time are up to date
4. ChargeBox ID
- Navigate to General / General
- Enter the ChargeBoxID of the charging station under Customer ident. number
The same ChargeBox ID needs to be entered when creating the station in the vaylens portal.
5. Setup the backend
- Navigate to Connectivity / General
- Backoffice preset = vaylens
6. Check endpoint URL
- Navigate to Connectivity / Network Profile 1
- Select the communication interface (wired or mobile) on Connect method
- Select the Protocol = OCPP 1.6
- Enter the CSMS URL = wss://prod.services-emobility.com/device/ocpp16
- Security Profile = 2: TLS with Basic Authentication
7. Setup the password
- Navigate to Connectivity / Back office security
- CPO Name = vaylens
- Backoffice authorization key = Enter the password you entered when creating the station in the vaylens portal.
Confirm all settings with SAVE and restart the BOX.
Check connection
- After restarting the charging station, please navigate to Live Monitoring" / "States
- OCPP boot notification state = ACCEPTED
