Chargeport-Status: "Inoperative - Fuse Tripped" on LG2WAN innogy eStations

What is the "Fuse Tripped" error and how can you check and resolve it

These instructions only apply to innogy eStations (LG2WAN).

If the charge point status “Fuse_Tripped” is displayed on the Charge port details page in the vaylens portal, there is an error in the installation of the station. This article will help you to investigate the issue, resolve it and delete the error message on site.

Error Description

The "Fuse Tripped" error is triggered when the charging station detects an absence of voltage on the monitored phase (Ground Fault Interrupter, GFI) during an active charging session. This issue typically arises due to a faulty installation or incorrect wiring within the station-system.

When this error occurs:

  1. The controller (LSX) activates the error state to protect the station-system and users.
  2. The charging station prevents any new charging sessions from starting.
  3. The status "Fuse_Tripped" is sent to the vaylens portal for monitoring and alerting.

Troubleshooting steps

This error cannot be resolved through software adjustments alone; it requires physical intervention with your hardware. To do so, please follow the steps outlined below.

Verify the phase sequence

  • Follow the installation instructions for the innogy eStation.
  • Inspect the connection cable to ensure the phase sequence is correct.
  • Confirm that all phases are connected according to the documented configuration.

Measure the GFI connection

  1. Locate the GFI connection: The GFI connection is found at the bottom of the contactor.

  2. Identify the black cable (1.5 mm²) connected to the terminal.
  3. Perform voltage measurements:

    • First measurement point: Connect your voltage meter to the 6A control fuse (upper terminal).
    • Second measurement point: Measure the voltage at the top of the contactor across the three phases:
    • Verify that the voltage between phases is > 400V.

Adjust the GFI Connection:

Ensure the black cable (1.5 mm²) is correctly connected to the required phase according to the installation instructions.

Reset the error from the LSX controller (and check whether the cause of the error has been fixed)

  1. Manually press the contactor for at least 5–10 seconds.
  2. Wait an additional 5–10 seconds.
  3. Refresh the charge point status on the Charge port details page in the vaylens portal.
  4. Check if the error has been cleared.

If the error persists

If the error persists despite correct wiring:

  1. Check the serial number of the contactor: Batch C1-18080.
  2. If the serial number matches, replace the contactor. For further help contact the manufacturer Compleo via https://www.compleo-charging.com/en/consultation
