What is eCharge+ app and what does it do?

The new B2C (Business to Customer) app for EV drivers simplifies the process of finding and using chargers. With advanced geolocation, users can locate nearby charge points quickly. The app supports Direct Payment like credit cards, PayPal or Giropay. Users can also enter contracts via the eMarketplace. Additional features include load management to optimize energy use, community charging for shared resources, fleet charging for businesses, and APIs for integration with other services. This app aims to enhance the overall EV charging experience, making it more convenient and efficient for all users.

Functionalities from the perspective of a CPO/EMP

CPO: Marketing/Publishing charge points in the app
Charge Point Operators (CPOs) can market and publish their charge points within the app. This visibility helps attract more EV drivers to their chargers, ensuring better utilization of their infrastructure and potentially increasing revenue.

EMP: Enabling EV drivers to start charging sessions with auto electricity contracts

Electric Mobility Providers (EMPs) offer EV drivers the option to start charging sessions using their auto electricity contracts. This feature provides a seamless and integrated experience for drivers who prefer to use their existing contracts for charging.
Depending on the settings of their auto electricity contract, EV drivers may have access to more chargers than those available with direct payment methods. This feature encourages drivers to use their contracts, offering greater flexibility and convenience in finding available charge points.

Let's talk about some numbers

Each month, approximately 70,000 charging sessions are initiated, combining usage from both the app and ePowerDirect.com. Of these sessions, around 28,000 are completed using Direct Payment such as credit cards, PayPal and Giropay. The remaining 42,000 sessions are conducted through auto electricity contracts, highlighting the popularity and convenience of contract-based charging for many EV drivers.
Every month, approximately 1.2 million kWh of energy are charged through the app. This significant volume underscores the app's pivotal role in facilitating EV charging and promoting sustainable transportation practices.
We currently offer 14,551 Direct Payment charge points, which are accessible to all users of the app. Additionally, depending on the terms of their auto electricity contract, users can potentially access nearly 85,000 charge points. However, the visibility and availability of these points vary based on the specific terms and conditions of the individual contracts.
