Charging Station Mass Importer

How to onboard multiple chargers at once or bulk edit master data

The Excel importer in vaylens portal enables the mass processing of master data, allowing both the import of new chargers into the system and extensive modifications to the master data of existing chargers.

When creating new chargers, there is the option to distinguish between the status "Planned" and "Installed". Chargers in the "Planned" status can later be switched to "Installed" either using the commissioning wizard or in large numbers via the importer.

Choosing the "Planned Station" status is advisable when the chargers have been sourced from the hardware manufacturer and are intended to be installed at their final location at a later date.

The importer exclusively supports OCPP chargers. LG2WAN chargers are not supported.

Instructions for using the importer

To use the importer, first navigate to Charging Infrastructure and then select the Imports tab.

There are two main functions available in the importer: creating multiple chargers and updating charger master data. For each of these functions, a corresponding Excel template is available for download.

When selecting the template for the creation of new chargers, you will receive a blank document with an example row that you can fill with the relevant data for new chargers.

The template for updating master data already includes all existing OCPP chargers, allowing you to directly make changes or additions.

After filling the templates, you can import them via Create Import in the top right corner.

The upload process can be tracked in the corresponding list in the Imports tab.

Explanation of Parameters

Parameter Property

mandatory/
optional

Explanation

Action (create, update)

m

Specifies whether a station should be newly created or if the master data of an existing station should be updated.

StationState (planned, installed)

m

Specifies the status in which the station should be created in the system. If the station is to be created as "installed" from the start, more master data needs to be maintained.

ProtocolType

(OCPP_15, OCPP_16_INTERNET, OCPP_16_VPN (deprecated))

m

The protocol through which the station communicates with the backend is important. With OCPP_16 stations, there is no longer a need to differentiate protocols, so OCPP_16_INTERNET can always be selected in this case.

CHARGEBOX_ID

m

The "OCPP Chargebox ID" is the unique identification number of the charging station, commonly referred to as the "serial number" or "station ID." Typically assigned by the charging station itself or the hardware manufacturer, this ID must match both in the station's hardware and in eOperate. It is essential for this ID to be unique within the eOperate system to prevent any conflicts with other charging stations.

PASSWORD

m (installed)

The password is required for communication authentication of the station with the backend. It must match in both the portal and at the charging station.

INSTALL_DATE Date format (YYYY-MM-DD)

m (installed)

The date on which the station was installed

POI boolean (true/false)

m (installed)

The POI (Point of Interest) flag determines whether the location of the charging station will be shared in the eCharge+ app or transmitted to connected Maps Providers such as Google or Apple Maps. When the POI flag is enabled, the station's data is made publicly available. If it is disabled, the station will not be displayed on the map of the eCharge+ app or transmitted to connected Maps Providers by default.

ACCESSIBILITY (FREE_ACCESS, PAID_ACCESS, RESTRICTED, TEST_STATION)

m (installed)

The "Accessibility" field indicates whether access to the charging station is restricted by external factors.

COUNTRY_ISO3

m (installed)

Country of the address in ISO Alpha-3 format, for example,

DEU: Germany
GBR: United Kingdom
FRA: France
ITA: Italy
ESP: Spain
UKR: Ukraine
POL: Poland
ROM: Romania
NLD: Netherlands
BEL: Belgium
CZE: Czech Republic
SWE: Sweden
GRC: Greece
PRT: Portugal
HUN: Hungary
AUT: Austria
BGR: Bulgaria
SRB: Serbia
HRV: Croatia

CITY

m (installed)

City of the address

ZIP_CODE

m (installed)

ZIP code of the address

STREET

m (installed)

Street including house number of the address

INSTALLATION_ADDRESS_ADDITION_EN

o

Additional address information in English language

INSTALLATION_ADDRESS_ADDITION_LOCAL

o

Additional address information in the local language

LATITUDE

m (installed)

Geographical coordinates for this charging station. Please use "." as the decimal separator. The allowed precision is up to 6 digits after the ".".

m (installed)

HOTLINE

m (installed)

IP_ADDRESS

o

required only for OCPP 1.5 Chargingstations

SIM_CARD_NUMBER

deprecated

ICCID

deprecated

IMEI

BASE_PATH

o

For OCPP 1.5 stations, it may be necessary to specify the base path like "/ocpp". Please refer to your hardware provider's documentation for more information.

PORT

o

For OCPP 1.5 stations, specifying the port may be necessary.

ROAMING_NAME

o

Under this name, the station is published to roaming platforms such as Hubject.

EVSE_n.LOGICAL_INDEX

m

The numbering of ConnectorIds must follow these guidelines:

  • The ID of the first connector must be 1.
  • Additional connectors must be sequentially numbered (skipping numbers is not allowed).
  • ConnectorIds should never exceed the total number of connectors at a charging point. For example, a charging point with 3 connectors: All connectors must be numbered 1, 2, and 3.
EVSE_n.CURRENT_TYPE (AD, DC)

m

Type of Charging Point

EVSE_n.NAME

m

Please provide the name of the charging station. This information will be displayed to EV drivers in the app, so make sure the name is also visible at the station. Note that the name cannot be changed later on.

EVSE_n.EVSE_ID

o

The Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment ID is a unique identifier assigned to each EVSE and is required if the station is to be published via roaming.

EVSE_n.PHASES

EVSE_n.NFC_RFID

m

The authentication types determine the options for authenticating charging processes at the charging point. These values only represent the master data and do not reflect the configuration on the charging station. If there is no configuration present on the charging station, the master data will be shared with connected POI services and displayed in charging apps. If there is a configuration on the charging station, these values will be used for the POI services.
